What we do.

We have a fully-featured recording studio located in Wollongong, NSW (formally Main Street Studios). The space is suited to recording artists in any genre and packed to the rafters with drool-worthy mics and gear. There’s also spaces suited to writing or working on demos. We tend to use the studio space for recording our own products, but sometimes record outside artists too :). If you’d like to see the space or have a chat about what we can offer, please reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

Music has an incredible ability to convey deep, complex ideas using only the abstract language of sound. When you hear a note or chord, it can instantly stir any number of emotions. By deliberately designing these sounds, we can take an audience on an emotional journey without having to say or show a single thing.

Broadcast requires a specific set of considerations that are fairly different to more conventional types of recording. Because of the live component, there’s no opportunity to get another take or fix things in post. You only get one shot! So it is important to engage experienced operators who have seen it all happen, and come out the other side with an excellent product. DROP. has broadcast everything from intimate acoustic shows, international rock bands, orchestras all the way up to enormous festivals and international sporting events. We have the chops to deal with these dynamic and challenging environments.

Writing music and lyrics that immediately connect with an audience is challenging. We have team members working across multiple genres and with different cultural experiences that can help inform your practice. Our team is equally comfortable collaborating with an established artist, or writing a song from scratch to fulfil a production brief. In either case, the result engages the audience where it counts and takes them on a journey.

Music is an essential part of film. It guides the audience’s emotional state while they watch the events unfolding on screen, whether it’s supporting, challenging, or sitting in tension with the rest of the scene. The DROP. team write, record and produce scores that tell your story and guide the audience on an emotional journey to enhance your vision.

Our studio space in Wollongong is ideal for recording actors providing Voice Over (VO) for ads, film, tv, and animation. We have both small and large studios, provisions for Zoom/Source Connect connections, facilities for vision and remote sessions, AND a large variety of microphones used on sets. We regularly work with international clients including Netflix, Discovery, Fox and talent including Deborah Mailman, Adam Damos and Margaret Throsby.

Podcasts are a particularly complex medium, with lots of moving parts to manage. Between production, music, recording, mixing, and distribution there’s plenty to technical things to think about, before you even get around to considering what your content is going to be. We can help with all aspects of podcast production. Spend your effort on telling the story you want to tell, and we’ll make it sound spectacular.

As you can imagine, recording something as long as an audiobook requires a huge amount of focus and attention to detail. So when we tell you we’ve produced almost 100 of them since we did our first in 2020, I hope it paints a picture about how robust our processes are (but not in an gross bragging way, in like a cool aloof way).

If you’re a musical artist, you know that creating great music isn’t enough. You need to get it out into the world and connect it to things your audience cares about. We tend not to provide these services directly, but we can consult, advise and connect you with everyone from session musicians to tour managers, to distribution and publishing people. There’s nothing more satisfying than connecting people who should meet.

The services listed here are just a small sample of the work we do.
We’re always looking for new ways to integrate music into people’s lives and interested in hearing what people have in mind, even if they’re completely zany ideas. If you’ve got some crazy proposal, we want to hear it.
